Back when N’sync was still together and Bagel Bites were considered a well-rounded meal (TBH, we still consider them a food group), a TV show about college life in the late ’90s introduced us to the smokin’ Scott Speedman, a.k.a. Ben on Felicity.
So what’s Ben, uh, we mean Scott up to these days? We caught up with the forever good-looking actor to discuss his show Animal Kingdom, his exes, his love life, and his sexiest quality.
I would go to my coffee shop and work for, like, 25 minutes so I don’t have to feel guilty. Then I’d go to an empty basketball gym and just shoot by myself for an hour. It’s kind of a meditative thing for me—some people go swimming, and this is myye version of that. (The Slim, Sexy, Strong Workout DVD is the fast, flexible workout you’ve been waiting for!)
I think extreme initial attraction can be super exciting, but yeah, as I’ve gotten older, that best-friend kind of quality seems to be more important. You might not have this amazing chemistry right away, but it is something that grows and is more solid.
We asked men and women how they know they’re in love. Here’s what they had to say:
Me? Oh my god. I think people need to not really think about themselves in that way, so that’s kind of tough. Maybe not taking myself too seriously?
Definitely impatience. I can fly off the handle sometimes when things aren’t going the way I want them to, and patience is important for my job. It’s a team sport, so it’s really important that you come to work with that kind of attitude.
My occasional need for solitude. Or, I guess they would say, my more-than-occasional need for solitude and to do things on my own—that I’m a bit too mysterious and withholding of things.
Stay home or go out? Go out.
Biggest turn-on? Naturalness.
Best meal you had last week? Probably spaghetti Bolognese that I made. It was kind of a bullshit version, but ya know.
Bar soap or body wash? Body wash, but most of the time, neither.
What time do you go to bed? I’m a bad sleeper—usually between 11 or 12.
